1. Classroom teachers do the principal function of the school system – educating our children.
2. Yet, as a group, only 18% - 25% of the money allocated for a classroom is spent on classroom teachers (salary and benefits) – see Where Does the Money Go?
3. We spend a FORTUNE on education (see Where does the money go?), but, on a global basis, get an inferior product. See "Global Comparison".
4. Often, teachers have to buy supplies out of their own pocket or beg them from parents.
5. Teachers are burdened by many senseless mandates, rules, restrictions and requirements.
6. The school system is TOP heavy.
7. The system needs to be “reinvented”, putting the focus on the CLASSROOM, where the action occurs.  
8. Senseless mandates, rules, restrictions and requirements need to be removed allowing teachers to do what they were trained to do – TEACH!
9. The reinvention must be done by business people who are used to making tough decisions with STRONG input from teachers.
10. Once reinvented, there would be a lot more money for classroom teachers and substantial tax cuts for taxpayers. 
11. Politicians are terrified of the “educational lobby”.  THE ONLY WAY THAT SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN IS IF A GREAT NUMBR OF INDIVIDUAL TEACHERS, BUT NOT THROUGH A UNION, DEMAND IT.  Decision makers MUST hear from everyone, but ESPECIALLY TEACHERS.  Please go to Action Required and follow the steps listed there.
