Teachers - Middle School

These questions are to get you thinking.  However, feel free to raise any and all issues that you believe appropriate.

SPECIFICALLY:

• What does our K-12 system do well?
• What is really good or great about our K-12 school system?
• What does our K-12 system not do well?  Why?
• What is greatest single problem that impedes you from teaching to the best of your ability?  What would it take to solve the problem?

• What comes next?  What would it take to solve the problem?
• Next?  Next? Next?

• What mandates are stupid?  Costly?
• What else is really stupid?  Wasteful?
• What does the school system do that it has no business doing?

SPECIFICALLY, if you could change or reinvent the school system:

• What would it look like? 
• What changes would make? 
• In what order?
• What is a proper class load at different grade levels?  How flexible is that?
• On what basis should teachers be compensated?
• Would you rather have the current retirement program or your own 401K which you can manage?

You:

• Have you thought about leaving the classroom? Why?
• How do we keep you in the classroom?
